Captain Christopher Dibler is the driving force behind In Debt Charters, bringing decades of hands-on fishing experience and an unmatched passion for the waters of Wanchese and Nags Head, North Carolina. Born with a love for the ocean, he has spent years perfecting his craft, studying local fish behavior, and mastering the ever-changing conditions of the Outer Banks. Known for his steady leadership and calm approach, Captain Dibler has earned a loyal following among anglers who value both his professionalism and his easygoing nature.
What sets Captain Dibler apart is his deep connection to the North Carolina coast and its diverse marine ecosystems. He knows exactly when the red drum are schooling inshore, where the striped bass hold in the colder months, and how to find mahi-mahi cruising offshore during the summer. His knowledge extends far beyond fishing spots—he understands tides, weather patterns, and seasonal migrations, ensuring his guests fish in the right place at the right time. This expertise allows anglers of all skill levels to feel confident and supported throughout the trip.
Beyond his skill on the water, Captain Dibler is known for making every guest feel welcome. Whether guiding a first-time fisherman or working alongside seasoned pros, he shares tips, techniques, and local stories that make the day memorable. His approachable personality and patient instruction create an environment where guests can relax, learn, and fully enjoy their time on the water. Many return year after year, not just for the fishing, but for the camaraderie and trust they’ve built with their captain.
The Boats That Get You There
In Debt Charters operates two well-equipped vessels designed for comfort, safety, and performance. The 23-foot Bulls Bay Center Console (2019) is powered by a Yamaha 200-horsepower engine, reaching cruising speeds of up to 28 mph. Ideal for smaller groups of up to four guests, it’s perfect for inshore trips and quick runs to productive fishing grounds. For larger groups or extended offshore outings, the 29-foot Topaz Convertible (1984) offers more space, powered by twin Volvo 250-horsepower engines with a cruising speed of 23 mph. Its versatile layout provides ample fishing room and comfortable seating, making it a reliable choice for full-day adventures. Both boats are maintained to the highest standards, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience from dock to deep water.
